Western European cities continue to outperform the rest of the world when it comes to expatriate quality of living, by taking 7 of the top 10 spots in Mercer's annual rankings. Vienna continues its reign in the top spot for overall quality of living, followed by Zurich (2), Auckland (3), and Munich (4). Vancouver (5) is North America's highest ranking city, and Singapore is the highest ranking Asian city, holding 26th place.

  • Recreation (restaurants, theatres, cinemas, sports and leisure, etc)
  • Consumer goods (availability of food/daily consumption items, cars, etc)
  • Housing (rental housing, household appliances, furniture, maintenance services)
