Race to Space

Join us for a conversation with Prof. Dr. Thomas Zurbuchen, Professor at the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at ETH and former Head of Science at NASA.

Prof. Zurbuchen will share insights on the future of space exploration, the new global “space race,” and geopolitical dynamics shaping it - across Europe, China, and the United States. The discussion will also explore Switzerland as a strategic business location, the commercialization of space, and space as an emerging investment opportunity.

Following the fireside chat, Nicole Herzog, Entrepreneur & Angel Investor, will moderate a panel discussion with REOR20, focusing on how space contributes to economically significant applications and technologies, as well as on the challenges and opportunities within the Swiss ecosystem. She will also share her perspective on why building bridges between entrepreneurship, innovation, and the space sector is so vital, and how cross-sector collaboration is essential for unlocking the full potential of the space economy.
